Becoming a Foster Parent


A. Five steps to Fostering a Child. 

1. Call

Make the Call 1-866-90CHILD to speak to a foster parent recruiter. 

2. Orientation

Attend an Orientation. Get Fingerprinted.

3. Classes

Complete the Free 30-hour National Training and Development Curriculum (NTDC) training.

4. Home Study

Home Study will include fingerprinting, criminal background check, extensive questionnaire, and visits to your home to make sure it's safe.

5. A Child is Placed         

A child(ren) is placed in your home and ongoing visits are made by the case manager and other professionals involved in the case.
